This historic home in downtown Prescott is currently undergoing a full transformation. Our involvement began in 2022, assisting the initial contractor with designs for multiple on-site structures and guiding the reinforcement of a sinking foundation—a challenge often seen in older Prescott homes.

The property’s history is layered. Once adapted as a group home, the house had ramps, accessibility upgrades, and a series of additions and enclosures that evolved over time. Through careful research—reviewing FEMA flood maps, exposed interior walls, and closet framing—we identified which parts of the structure were original and which were later additions. With no historic photographs available, we turned to nearby homes of similar age for reference, using architectural clues to make informed design decisions.

Our approach acknowledges both assumptions and discoveries: with older homes, surprises are often revealed once construction begins. Despite these challenges, the Marina Street Remodel is on its way to becoming a luxury residence just steps from Prescott’s historic plaza and the cultural heart of downtown.

Soon, this once-fading structure will stand renewed—blending its layered past with a modern vision for comfortable living in one of Northern Arizona’s most vibrant neighborhoods.
